Lightroom 2.1

I hope it doesnt hog so much memory... since version 2 I cant have lightroom and photoshop working together without the pc being very sluggish.

Installed it yesterday after i did my editing. can't say I found 2.0 particularly slow.

I use it with 2 screens and the main working screen shows highlight warnings a split second after they are shown on the preview screen. that delay does seem a little less now. not used it enough to notice much else yet.

It does seem to have a bit less lag when dragging sliders now but I don't think it's back to the speed 1.4 ran at :(

Id go back to that if it wasnt for the gradient tool and new brush tool in v2

Im not on a dual core processor and i guess its starting to show a bit.

I downloaded it last night. It seemed that the blogs had heard of the release before Lightroom did though!

Even dual core can suffer!

I'm the same though, the new adjustments tools in it mean I couldn't bear going back now.

I'm on a triple core, 64bit OS with 4gb and it shows :(

It's frustrating as LR 1.4 was pretty quick. Unfortunately I can't justify work buying me a nice new 8 core mac pro just so I can edit my photos a bit quicker in my spare time :P

I've been running 2.1 since the release candidate came out and to be honest I can't see much difference between it and version 2.0, as regards speed. Now I know a number of Mac users had some speed issues which it seems 2.1 fixed. I don''t think it's much faster than 1.4.1 to be honest, but the local enhancement tools plus the improved search functions are a blessing. Now all I need is soft proofing and free transform and.......and ... and

2.1 promised a fix for the 'Edit in Photoshop' bug which I am one of the few to suffer from. Some fix... it still won't work GRRRR! I've tried all the 'fixes' suggested on the adobe forums but it still won't work... I'm just hoping CS4 will put it right now.

But back to the OP... I haven't noticed any real slow downs yet which I did occasionally get with 2.0, nothing definitive though but maybe it is an improvement

There was a comment from Adobe about this and it seems to be a scripting issue. They say it will be fixed with CS4

It must be my imagination then. ;)

I think it's a fraction faster.

I am still downloading my pics, 34107 and counting.

Not done much on the processing side yet.

I've recently installed it. I can't say I've noticed any difference either way as regards to speed. Actually, it seems to swap from Library module to Develop module a bit quicker.

Yup - downloaded a day or so ago and all works well here. Both of the export plugins I use work fine with it too.
