i am going for a photoshoot with a friend and his company, basically photos of his cars for promotional advertising and such things.

i'll be in his unit, the cars will be in there with a black background. a black sheet i take it

lighting, the unit has the normal workshop bright lights, he has said he will get any lighting i want. problem is i dont know what i want. i just make do with what i have lol

help!

what should i look too get in the way of lighting?

I guess you could get away with work lights and long exposures but the one thing you really need to get the best results is some big white panels of some sort to get nice reflections and more black to block everything else out. The last thing you want is a reflection of you, the camera, the rest of the unit, etc. Getting the reflections right is the key to a good "studio" shot of a car.
 
I wouldn't ask for anything for the shoot if I were you. Without wishing to sound disrespectful you don't seem to know about lighting and it's not the sort of thing you can blag.
