Best guesses? I went with an offset clamshell, softboxes, about 1.5 stops higher above right than below left, plus black flags either side of model. Almost there but it's missing... 'something'. Before you ask, I've left the card behind so can't show example at the moment lol

My guess here is a beauty dish, directly in front of the camera and fairly high.
There may well be an on axis fill and black absorbers at the sides too, but if there were absorbers then they needed to be closer.
The beauty dish needed to be both higher and closer IMO

Looks very straightforward to me. Big square softbox above/right. Full-length reflector left, eg polyboard, though the white background and floor is also kicking plenty of light back.

The main thing I was lacking was separation between model and background, (hence trying the black flags either side) when using a big softbox (I tried one either side initially, but left set to minimum and the scrim put in, just in case I needed 'more'

I agree, it looks completely straightforward (as to be expected, catalogue work, repeatability etc!) just... well I'm probably fussing lol

I just don't see anything at all tricky there. It looks very like window light, which is why I say big-ish softbox, probably at some distance to reduce fall-off on the model and background, and lots of white background/floor out of shot filling in. The catchlights in the eyes are clearly rectangular. A set-up like that would be good for catalogue work, very benign and tolerant, and would lend itself to just about everything with a nice clean, simple, uniform look.

Rembrant lighting. Softbox high and right of camera (you can see this if you zoom into the eyes and look at the catchlight direction). The background has a very even fall off top to bottom and could easily have been dropped in later in Photoshop.
