Hi,

I've currently got a Nikon SB800 which is great as it can be used wirelessly but...i'm thinking of selling it to fund an actual flash kit.

First of all, what kits are best to go for for a first kit and secondly I want a kit that can be used outdoors as well as indoors.

Does anyone have an suggestions of kits available at all?

I mainly shoot portraits/full body shots but also Automotive and Stock so i'm looking for a kit that can tick the Portraits/Full Body (indoors and outdoors) and at least help out with Stock/Automotive for outdoors

Does such a kit exist and what prices am I looking for for a kit that can be used outdoors?!

Thanks
Paul

There is the Lencarta Safari kit that has a battery pack so you can use it outdoors but the main problem with that kit is that you adjust the power of the lights by adjusting the power output of the battery so it affects each of the lights you have plugged in to it.

I'm sure Bowens and other suppliers will do similar ones but they aren't cheap if you get the battery powered kits.

I bought Viewfinder EID500 kit at Focus this year. It's full stop increment, but it drops down to 128th power, something like 12000th second flash duration, and the battery pack is tiny - lighter than Quadra. Impressive stuff for the money. It even comes with a remote to adjust the power :)
