Yes
I have been asked by a local hairdressers to take some profile shots of their stylists for their Facebook page.
I had in mind a pop up background and a single 580EXII behind the stylist and a second 580 with an umbrella.
As it's really only head and shoulders would the flash be enough to evenly light the background just behind the stylist.
It is a lastolite white pop up background. I can't get a dry run as I am buying the background the morning on the shoot. Yes a bit last minute but the phone call for the job just came in.

John.

To be honest for headshots, the only way you can mess up the background is complete carelessness. Make sure you don't overexpose it or get any spill onto the subject.
