Lighting DVDs: Your chance to watch them.

Whilst looking through my DVDs for my Elinchrom one to sell with my kit, I noticed a couple of other DVDs that my be of benefit to members on here.

As with most things, once you have watched them a couple of times then they get stuck to one side and forgotten.

So, with this in mind, if any member who is able to post in the 'For Sale' threads on here would like to borrow them I will send them out, I would prefer if each member that has them keeps them for no longer than a week (to give everyone the chance to see them), and that they either send them on to the next member in the list or back to me by Recorded Delivery.

The Titles of the 2 DVDs are:

What a great idea, and both for me would be great at the moment with the new home studio. How is this gonna work. then??

I think a suggestion would be two lists... one per DVD to help with the distribution? or would it be easier to track with both as a set.
 
I will make a list a little later in the thread, I would prefer to send them out as a pair and have them forwarded as such.

On Tuesday, I will send them to the first person in the list, they then will have a week from delivery (I would appreciate it if delivery is confirmed in this thread) to watch them before posting them on to the next person on the list at the end of the week. It will be up to the current receipient to arrange to get the following persons details by PM.

I will update the list on a weekly or so basis so as we know where we are with them.

The only cost to the members will be the cost of the onward postage.

Like Boney, I too have a new home studio and would definitely benefit from these. I'd appreciate being added to the list too if that's okay.

just an idea, just as a means of protecting your purchase OP, it is legal for you under fair use to copy the disks and send out these copies, keeping yours as backup disks, so that if the disks do get lost in the post or whatever (see far too many royal mail problem threads on here...) then you at least have the originals.

As long as you're not watching the originals, and the people that borrow them don't make copies, it's legal. :)
 
I'm pretty sure that there is no such thing as copying for 'fair use' in the UK. Technically copying any audio or video (including ripping CD's to put on a computer or an Mp3 player!) is illegal at the moment afaik.
 
hmm, yeah, actually, just researched it a bit... I might be reading the US press a little too much! I don't think it's been tested in courts over here mind (can't see any references to it, anyway)...eh
 
Re the copying thing.. my understanding of this is that as EdBray purchased these originally and is therefore the rightful owner, his is allowed to make backup copies of these by law. He is not selling or renting either the copies or the originals for financial gain, nor is he making a public broadcast.

So a backup copy might be a good idea - which set you then loan is up to you.

This is great. Any chance i could be added to the list please?

Getting a 580ex delivered soon and really should learn how to best use it so these would be very helpful.

That is ofcourse if you have no objections :)

Not Royal Mail, but Me.

I was planning to send the DVDs yesterday but something came up and I was unable to, I am also unable to post them today, so they will be being posted tomorrow. I apologise for the slight delay but have had other (non photographic) things to attend to.
