Lighting an object to make it look smaller

Hi guys, just playing around with lighting objects in prep to maybe doing some product photography at a later date.

Any ideas guys?

Short lighting

i.e. with the item at an angle to the camera, light the part which is less visible.
Used on people, it makes the face look thinner and of course has exactly the same effect on any other subject.

There is a short lighting example (the model with a studio 'window' behind her) in this article on the Lencarta website and there is another example there, actually Chiaroscuro lighting, which uses the short lighting principle
