I have a couple of table lamps in the living room that are used frequently and in the past have taken the old fashioned incandescent 100w bulbs which to my eyes produce an attractive bright light.

I recently bought a couple of 11w 1055 lumen LED bulbs for the lamps which are supposed to be equivalent to 75w in the old money. They cost about £4 each and look awful imo, relatively dim with a greenish cast to the light.

I don't really want to go back to the old 100w incandescents but can anyone suggest a suitable alternative?

LED is all about colour temperature we replaced all ours in the main lounge and I believe we went for the brighter whiter 6500k (4700k is a softer colour)

All my indoor and outdoor lighting has been LED for a number of years. I always use Cool white because it is near to daylight colour temperature.

BTW LEDHUT are good to with - very quick and helpfull if you ask for advice.

I converted to all L.E.D bulbs a year or two back , mix of bright white and normal depending on the room . only had one bulb go in 2 years I find home bargains stores ones to be the cheapest

I know LEDs are the way to go, I have them throughout the house as spotlights and low voltage LEDs in the garden too.

It’s just that I found the table lamp replacement bulbs to be a slightly unpleasant light.

I'm the same with the whole house and outside all LED. I found that with lamps the design of the LED bulb also matters with regard to light spread and the type of lamp it's in.

Ikea LEDs are awfully good for the money. Actually, they are pretty good regardless of cost but they are also cheap.

They also have them lit so you can see if you like the light they put out before you buy them. As do Wilkinsons/Wilko.
