Hey guys,

I'm wondering if some kind people can point me in the right direction to the above. I've trying to get a fairly basic 2/3 light setup going (I have already purchased a couple of YN-560s and some 603s) so I'm now looking for a couple of light stands and soft boxes.

I was originally going to get umbrellas but thought that soft boxes seemed to give me more of what I'm looking for. Ideally, I want to spend a little bit more on some light stands so they don't break (as quickly) but to be honest, I don't think they will be getting tons of use so I would like some cheap and slightly more expensive options that people have had experience with!

I have searched for similar threads but they seem to be from a while ago or in the US etc so the links don't work or they're overseas!

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the input so far guys! The ones on the Costwold Photo eBay store look quite good! And RE the Lencarta ones, I was looking at these and they didn't seem to look that different to budget ones! I'm guessing though that people can vouch for them?

Wow, they ARE cheap! Do you have any of them? If so, have you used them outside?

Ditto here - the Konig stand is great value for money. I live in Warwick if you want to see any for yourself.

Thanks to the guys above, and thanks for the offer to come check out your stands! Haha! I need these potentially fairly quickly so I have just ordered two of the Konig ones!

Now, that just leaves me with finding either two softboxes or umbrellas, umbreallas are looking a bit more likely at the moment because softboxes are so expensive!

The Cotswold softboxes are good quality and delivery is quick! EBay has plenty of good quality ones too if you're prepared to wait for delivery!

If you want an umbrella then one like the westcott one is good as it has a removable cover so can be used as a shoot through and a reflective umbrella!

Remember you also need flash mounts.... The Cotswold ones are again very good quality compared to others I have bought!

Awesome! Bought 2 of the mounts and some cheaper umbrellas! The Westcott ones seemed to be £20, by that time, I'd rather just buy softboxes! So got cheap ones and hoppeeefullyyyy, they should be fine for light use!

The stands are great however if using with a brolly outside the feet don't go very wide so weight them down else they will blow over.

Someone on here recommended me the westcott Apollo umbrella softbox and it's brilliant. Very quick to put up/down
