I've order a ebay backdrop kit and i made a mistake on the measurement. I thought the kit is 7.5ft wide and 10ft height but i'm wrong it is the otherway round. The kit don't go too high so stand up portrait is no go. Also the stand feel abit unsecure when reach up to the max height.

The cross bar do look solid and is useable so i was thinking about to replace the stands only.

Will a normal standard light stand will be ok? The cross bar on my kit atm is attached to the stands then use the screw on bolt to lock the bar in place. Do i need to buy adapters for the standard light stands to fit with the cross bar?

as mentioned in another thread, why not instead get a pair of hanging brackets (screwfix, etc, ) mount the brackets to the wall then just use the crossbar. This then gives you a couple of tripods for holding reflectors / lights....

The problem with that is the house is not mine so installing a brackets on the wall is not an option, also i would like to be portable as well. I've solve the problem now thanks :)
