Hi everyone, i was hoping some of my peers could give me some advice.
i am trying to photograph light rays coming threw the clouds and trees, do i need a filter to get the best quality picture of is it strictly down to exposure and light metering?

thanks for your time

I am by far no expert on this type of thing - but as far as I'm aware, there is no specific filter for this kinda thing, A polorizer used correctly will help out with saturation and colour of the overall shot, but capturing the beams of light will be mostly down to your exposure.

trying a HDR shot of these kinda things usually works out fairly pleasing depending what your after, you can get some nice effects with beams of light and things of the sort.

Thanks rob i will give it a try that way. I think it i just going to be a case of trial and error. All part of the fun.

No worries bud, trial and error is usually the best way forward :D - don't forget to post some pics of how it goes :)
