I thought I would have a look, and as I do not have any form of camera bag it seemed decent enough to get for the time being. As I prefer messenger style bags anyway and will probably get on of those, this also gives me the option of a backpack.
First impressions are that it has pockets and dividers everywhere, which is really nice, but the shoulder straps are flimsily padded and not adjustable at the top of the bag so carrying any weight would get painful after a while. There is also an optional shoulder strap so you can carry it by your side, though with the same level of padding.
Though not waterproof itself, there is a compartment at the bottom containing a raincover which you can place over the bag. Unlike better ones where this is sewn into the bag, here it is a loose item like a large showercap. Also it is a different colour (or at least mine is). I bought a dark blue, almost dark grey, the other option was more like a russet apple, yet the raincover is slate.
I have not tried loading it up yet but for me it might end up just being a way of storing all my gear at home, thankfully I do not have that much. Though that would be a vast improvement on my current system of using a totally unprotected shoebox and so worth the money.
As usual with Lidl stuff, you know that you are going to be getting something cheap but that does the job, and I think this bag is no different. It will not impress a professional but will do a job.
While there I also bought one of there £4.99 camera bags:

Again nothing fancy but something I did not have. A Canon 30D with Sigma 17-70 lens attached (and reversed hood) is a tight fit but it does fit, even with the Canon shoulder strap folded inside. At the moment I usually have the camera floating around inside the main compartment of a normal backpack, so use some nested carrier bags for padding. This seemed a much better option for carrying that way.
