Lenses....what to do?

Currently I have a Canon 50mm 1.8, a Tamron 18-200 and a Canon 70-300 IS USM. My dilemma is whether to stay with the lenses I have, knowing that I have a decent range covered or..... whether to sell the Tamron (which is a cracking walk-about). If I did the latter I would put the cash towards a Canon 17-85 IS or a Sigma 17-70 DC Macro.

This is not an earth-shattering problem I know but any input would be much appreciated. TIA.

I would sell the Tamron and buy a Canon 17-40L. It would fit perfectly into your range and the quality is unquestionable.

Thanks, Steve, for the speedy reply. I hadn't thought of that option.

Glad to have helped a little but it seems I may have killed your thread ;)

Nema problema - other people might gain from your reply as well.

Funny - today I used the kit lens as it is the widest i have. It crossed my mind that it was probably wide enough for most things and something like the 17-40 might be a better bet than the extreme wide angles like the 10-20 that i had been thinking of

That's pretty much what I've found having purchased the (Nikon equivalent) 17-55 f/2.8 - my 12-24 barely gets used any more. Might end up selling it tbh.

I have to admit that I would like something wider, but i do think that it would get used very rarely in all honesty. It would be nice to have on occasions though for those experimental shots but I can't justify the cost against its likely use.
