Lenses for portraiture

I'm off on a studio photography course soon and I was wondering if there are any lenses that would be ideal for this. I currently have a 30D with a Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8, a Canon 50mm f/1.8 and a Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6. Are these good enough or would it be worthwhile making an investment in something else?

Forgot to add - budget not a huge issue but preferable less than a grand!!!
 
Your canon 50mm f1.8 would be your best choice.

For film/full frame portrait shots 80mm is the best focal length for perspective, I'm honestly not sure if that changes along with the crop factor or wether it stays constant so if you want to spend money look for a decent quality zoom in the 50-80mm range.
 
Nope, perspective does not change with crop. So if 80mm is the best for that on a 35mm it will be the same for a 1.6x crop.

85mm primes always make nice portraiture lenses.

You have the 85mm F/1.8 | 85mm F/1.4 | 85mm F/1.2 to choose from :D

Another vote for the 85mm f1.8 here, dont "do" portraits in the deliberate sense, but works very well for snapping those moments and picking friends and family out at occasions. 50mm is another good choice but would prefer my 85mm when possible. Both give very nice sharp results.
 
85mm is thee portait lens IMO..:)

i find the images produced through my 60mm macro are great :)

very sharp little lens and a mortgage less than Tim's 85L
 
Thanks for all the answers guys. I am sorely tempted by the 85mm prime (even more so by the f/1.2L but hey, we can all dream!)
