lenses choice

Hi I've just got a Canon 1000D with the std 18-50mm lenses.
Now I want to get a zoom but stuck for which to get choices are

Sigma 50-200mm f4-5.6 DC OS HSM EOS

canon 55-250

which one should I go for??

The sigi is a good lens for the cash, but for me Canon everytime.

I've never used the Sigma lens, but I've got the 55-250 myself and love it. Great lens for the money, you won't be disappointed if you get one
