Yes
I'm sure this has been done to death in other threads, but as the whistle blows at 3pm tomorrow which size lenses will you have on which bodies? Do any of you change lenses during the game or do you use different bodies with the lens attached?

Cheers

1dmk IV + 400mm f2.8 L
1dmk IV + 135mm f2 L

Thats it whole game.. same as I had at tonights game :)

Nikon D3 + 300 2.8
Nikon D2h + 70-200 2.8

It's very interesting that just about all of the people posting on this thread put the higher rated body on the longer lens.
Out of interest and I hope the OP doesn't mind me asking on his thread, but why do you all do this ?

I do it myself too, But the other week at a night game as the floods came on, I swapped the mkiv and put the 70-200 on it for the goal action areas as opposed to using it on the 400mm 2.8...

absoloutly agree... at night games or second half over winter i would change the mkiv over to the 135 and if at accy with real bad lighting i would put the 400 away and just shoot the goalmouth with mkiv and 135... hence why i got another mkiv :)

I suspect the higher grade body will be attached to the lens which will be used most during a game, it's all about the higher percentage of shots being shot with the better equipment.

Even I do that, ok I only have a 500D and a 450D but if I am going to use the 24-70 most it will be on the 500D if I'm using the 70-200 it will be on the 500D and the I even though both cameras are pretty evenly matched.

1Dmk3 + 300f2.8
1Dmk3 + 70-200f2.8

May add x1.4 to 300 at larger stadiums (particular those that are also rugby grrounds) during summer/spring when brighter.

Its all about reading the game, if your shooting a one sided match with plenty of action your end, shoot with your stronger camera and visa versa if the action is away from you if you didnt move at half time.
I pretty much always follow the strongest team second half and use 70-200 second half with my strongest body on it.
