Hi guys,

New guy to the forums!

With Farnborough airshow coming up it crossed my mind to rent a lens to give me some more reach. My body is a D90 with the kit 18-105, a 50 f1.8 and a 55-200 f4-5.6.
I will be attending the show on the public days but I also live under the flight path so will be trying some shots from the garden.

I was recommended this site: http://www.lensesforhire.co.uk/nikon-super-telephoto-20-c.asp but having a look in there I don't think there's anything available within my budget that would be any good.

Can anyone recommend a lens and a reputable site? I'm looking to hire for a 5 day period as I'm also up to London zoo next week

Thanks

Matt

If you've tried LFH then another good choice is Lenspimp

And welcome to the forum of course ;)

What's your budget exactly?

Lenspimp do the 50-500mm OS for £69.60 (7 days hire)

Thanks guys. I was thinking around the £60 mark as its a spur of the moment decision and with the GF's birthday next week, its an expensive week already!

I will check out lenspimp.

Have no huge experience at shooting jets etc, can anyone recommened a lens that is quick to focus and sharp?

Thanks

Remember you need to take into account postage and return postage, that will add another £20-£30 on top of the hire cost.

So if your budget is £60 that will leave you with £30 odd to pay for a 5 day hire. Unless you have already accounted for this and you plan on spending £60 PLUS postage on top, then realistically, I wouldn't be holding my breath to hire anything particularly fast or really high quality, or anything at all suitable within that budget from either company.

I think the last time I checked the 70-300 vr was just over the £30 mark for a 3 day hire but I don't remember which one of the two companies it was, that lens is probably going to be your best bet for your budget if you want to hire.
