for a group photo?
I have been asked to take a few group photos at a local school. The group will be about 43 people( adults in front) in 3 rows, 15 ish in each row, against a building, in May.

I will be using my D300, any recommendations for the best F/L to use please? Or maybe a list with a few lens possibilities.
Thanks
Allan

How about a 28/35mm lens, as this would equate to 50mm ish in the old 35mm film stakes?

That's quite a large group. The problem is if the lens isn't wide enough you'll have to move right back to fit everyone in, with the result that you'll have a huge foreground and not really show individuals in the group as large as you'd like. If you go too wide with the lens, there 's likely to be a distortion problem with the people on each end of the group appearing to lean outwards, but that's more of a problem the closer you move to the group.

I'd say 28mm tops, but 24mm might be better.

Thanks for the info, looks like 24-28 seems to be the way to go. I have a Nikon 28mm and a 17-50 so will be taking those along, should cover all eventualities!
