Hi, This is my first thread on here :)
I've had my D50 for a year now and I'm still using the sigma 28 - 80 mm f3.5 - 5.6 lens I got with it. I now think I want a better lens because the sigma isn't sharp. I've got about 120 pounds to spend on a new lens. I take photos of anything really but I like landscapes and sports the most. I've been recommended the nikon 50 mm f1.8 but I'd like something that is wide for landscapes so are the wide angle converters any good so i could screw it onto the 50mm?
The Lenses I've been recommended are:
Nikon 18-55 AF-S & 18-135mm

Many Thanks

At £120 you are about 20-30 pounds from getting something seriously good, that is the Sigma 17-70 Macro (used!)

Hunt around, this lens will smoke anything else in that price range. The 18-70 (Nikon) is a good lens, but the extra speed of the 17-70 and better macro make it a far more versatile lens.

Cheers,
James
