Hi guys, I need a advice from you. I have just returned from caribbean hols with my photo equipment (see signature). I would like to get everything professionally cleaned by nikon service. Where do I find them in London?
I was very cautios to avoid any sand or salty water, and cleaned my lens incl. filters every time I got to my room from beach. There was always a invisible film on the filter which I easily removed with a rocket blower and a lenspen afterwards. It was there to be seen only if I used the pen and saw the difference. I am a little bit worried though to clean the back of the lens myself. I assume the humidity made its work whether I liked it or not. Also I reckon the same applies to the camera sensor. Maybe Im a bit too worried, but then correct me pls :)
Thanks for reading and your replies :D

just see if dirt/dust/stains or whatever affecting your pictures. don't see a point to splash £100+ just to clean it (if you don't need it).

Save your money. You can do the back of the lens with a lenspen IF it needs doing. If the sensor needs cleaning then use some pecpads and eclipse fluid. The sensor wont have been exposed to anything the lens has, so it shouldnt need doing at all unless you constantly changed lenses on the beach.

Thanks for replies guys! Swapping/unmounting the lens on the beach was one thimg I strictly avoided at all times, to prevent anything getting inside the camera. Hope the nikon fit is tight enough so I dont have to worry about the sensor.
With regards to the lens, I will clean the back with my baader optical wonder fluid. For the camera, I will rely on sensor cleaning mechanism doing the job sufficiently.:)
