I know what you mean, Cheryl and Nath! I've played a 1959 one of these, and if that's anything to go by... I just wanted a good solid workhorse guitar that can probably take a damn good beating!
And Matty - I thought the same too until I heard one of these things cranked. Versatile ain't the word - think a load of stuff by Green Day, right through to the solo on Another Brick In The Wall. They're classics! (Plus I've had my quota of pointy headstock axes in the past!)
Hahaha! It's not THAT much of a dog! At least I hope not - it's an impulse fleabay auction! And if it is, I'm sure I can set it up, given half an hour!
Well, it's always a gamble buying a guitar unseen, but I've landed on my feet with this one - peachy doesn't describe it! Looks about 25 years old, plays like a dream. Yet to test with an amp cranked in anger, but all looks good so far...! Well chuffed!
Guitar looks awesome, bet you're not regretting that!
I had the same dilemma with a new drumkit or a lens & went with the drumkit - I am selling sooo much stuff though at the moment to get money together for the lens so it hopefully just meant a slight delay
Hahaha! Too right I'm not regretting it one little bit! I've put some new strings on it, taken the stoopid tremolo system off it and converted it back to original spec, and given it a bit of a setup. So now it plays better than any Les Paul I've had before, is VERY loud acoustically - so I suspect it's gonna sing like a lady and scream like a biatch when I plug it in! Can't wait until tomorrow's gig!
