Can anyone recommend a lens hood (cheap) that will fit this lens as there seem to be so many different types out there.:confused:
 
You can make one out of paper or similar, no it's not a joke - google is your friend
 
I've bought quite a few off evil bay, both the usual petal ones and metal ones too. Just type 58mm lens hood into the search and you'll be spoilt for choice... if going for the tube/bucket type ones keep the size down so as not to get in the way at the wide end.

This one says it's for that lens... but have you got the filter size right? ah! It's the f3.5-5.6 you have?

Which one would you guys recommend, rubber fold down type, petal, or solid?
 
Personally I think I'd go for one of the metal ones just for oldie worldie pose value and because as they don't look out of place on any lens.

But you could always go for the petal kind specifically designed for that lens and in fact that's probably the best non poser option :D

If you end up with a poser type like I bought :D you could buy a lens cap to fit and leave the hood permanently on the lens.
