Lens Help

Hi

Im looking into purchasing a portrait lens in the next month

i have found the following 2 that im interested in and was just wondering what you guys would reccomend

the two lenses are

sony a mount 85mm f2.8 SAM

or

sony a mount 50mm f1.8 SAM

just wondering what each lens is better at doing than the other

What camera are you using full frame,or crop

im using a sony alpha a390

I would go with the 50mm F1.8,on a crop sensor it will give you a nice portrait lens,at a good price.

The 85mm would better suit an full frame camera,for me on a crop sensor maybe just a little to long,as a portrait lens
