No
Had my 550d a few weeks now, just with the 18-55 kit lens.
Now want to start getting equipment to shoot watersports. Mainly wakeboarding.
Now, I don't have a huge budget. Just would like to know. What equipment is going to give the fairly good quality. For a fair price. All shots will be taken from shore. Not on boat.
Thanks

you can be creative with any lenses.... would really depend on where your planning to shoot from, and distance between you and your subject etc

Will be shooting from shore, the distant is likely to be in the range of 10m-40m. No more no less.

i'd be playing with the exising lens first and practising panning and playing with settings in tv mode for added effect.... you can always crop the pic later???

Is there anything you could recommend for later on. So I can start saving.
I would be looking to get in really close to the action.

theres the general 55-250mm lens or 75mm-300mm lens from the general shops jessops/pc world/currys that arent overly priced..... more defined lens go up the cost scale very quickly- it all depends on what you trying to achieve really

These are the lenses I thought would come up. As it is just a hobby can't justify buying anything faster than these.
Thanks

I'm a fool with too many tabs open who replied to the wrong thread! Sorry :bonk:

It's a no brainer...100-400.
It's a bloody good lens and excellent value for money.
Keep an eye out for one second hand.

I would say renting would be a good option.
