Will a Canon AF lens fit the Canon 400D camera?
As a new 400D owner I am still trying to find out about the camera and accessories.

The camera will accept EF and EF-S lenses m8, AF simply means Auto-Focus it's not so far as I know a lens mount designation in itself.

The first lens I was going to get to share with Liz's 400D is what I think might be a reasonable walkabout lens the Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DG Macro (Canon AF)
Any comments welcome on this lens before a trip to the camera shop.

Take the camera with you. ;)

The only thing I'd say is that's a huge range in one lens and generally speaking, lenses which try to do everything end up not doing anything very well. The idea sounds attractive but you'd probably be better served by two or three lenses covering that range.

Shogun yes that lens will fit your 400D, but, you'd be better buying the APO version of that lens, it's more expensive but streets ahead in image quality. The DG is generally very soft and suffers from chromatic aberration (purple fringing on bright edges)

Thanks for the comments. Looks like I will have to wait a week and get the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM Lens
