Hi...I want to purchase a lens cleaning cloth but unsure which to buy.
I understand some have chemicals in them and obviously do not want to damage any of my lenses
Any advise please
Stu

Thanks for that...will take a look at the web site

I tend to use a blower and a lens pen, don't relly use my cloth.

go to your opticians and pick up a microfibre cloth from them. calocloth is generally very good and retails about £2.50-£3.00

Another vote for the lens pen. Most of the time the brush is enough to get dust off and the other end is excellent if you have finger prints or other greasy marks to clean.

Are the lenspens on eBay ok? Or are they the usual dodgy copies etc? Which should I get?

Rocket blower. If that don't work, microfibre cloth + propanol/water 1:1. If that don't work, Lenspen.

Microfibre cloth won't do any damage if clean - they're designed to clean glasses with much more fragile coatings on than the typical lens has. Just replace every so often as grit can get into the "pores" - if you use an old dirty one you might as well be using fine abrasive paper...

Lenspen or clean microfibre cloth + isopropyl alcohol (that's what most optical cleaning fluids are) for stubborn marks if necessary. Most modern lens surfaces are pretty tough but use a blower to make sure there's no dust or grit on the lens before you use anything else, or there's a risk of scratching the glass.

Don't overdue it. There's usually no need to clean lenses unless they're very grubby.

I generally use an optical (glasses) cleaning cloth (from local opticians / borrowed from wife's glasses case :D) - works a treat
