Yes
Ive been thinking, when my old camera got a smudge on the lens I just wiped it with whatever I had to hand, a lot of times it needed a good old wipe to clear the lens, I have seen various kits on EBay to clean lenses, the lens pen things look interesting, what do you guys use?

Hi, first of all, I only do this when it is really necessary.

I use isopropylalcohol bought for 2 €, small bottle, at my apothecary, and cosmetic cleaning pads from my wife (don't tell her ... :)).

(Commercial fluids are at best equivalent, sometimes just watered down, or with special ingredients ... )

Do it softly, from the inside out, as shown on youtube ---

When necessary I use moistened spectacle cleaning tissues after blowing/brushing away any dust/debris.
Something like THIS.

I'm afraid I use my hankie (but not a tissue as they are quite abrasive). Mainly, I do not touch the lens glass and a good blow with a dry mouth is good enough. Really, cleaning is not good for the lens and not getting the glass dirty in the first place is a much better solution.

Microfibre cloth usually. Sometimes the t-shirt I'm wearing.

Filters will sometimes need fluid as they obviously pick up many more marks than the lens does.

My glasses I usually clean in work under the tap with fingertips & washing up liquid then dry under the hand drier. I wouldn't recommend that for lens glass though :)
