Lens Case For Canon 70-200 2.8 II

I've got a Canon 70-200 2.8 II on the way but it doesn't come with a lens pouch. Buying the lens pouch costs near £50 but doesn't offer much protection so does anyone have any alternative suggestions for a case that provides better protection that fits the lens?

Lowepro and thinktank make some lens cases, I think some others will too. Alternatively, tenba and domke make lens wraps, as I'm sure others do too.
