They are just a fun wee accessory but they do have a good use in that you can use them on a lens

I.e. if you are doing video and want to keep the lens at a certain focal length then you can use the band to hold it and so that it doesn't move during focus

my canon 10-22 has been sporting a black wristband for a few yrs
thats to keep it together in the centre . its coming apart due to an accident
works great with the band in place LOL
saves a few quid sending it to canon
