Hi Guys,

Need some advice again!

I currently have a Canon 18-55 EFS Kit Lens for my landscapes. Im looking to invest in a new lens. I have £300 to spend, My Camera is a Canon EOS 40D, and im looking at a sigma as a brand.

The main uses for the new lens will be sunsets, sunrises, landscapes and architecture.

Cheers,
Rob.

Have a look at the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 (non IS) version. Around £300 and a great all rounder, good walkaround lens, gives you a reasonable zoom 27.2-80mm framed on your cropped sensor, a fast lens with a constant f2.8 through out zoom range and wide enough for landscapes etc. An alternative to the more expensive canon 17-55mm f2.8 which is the ideal main lens for a cropped sensor camera.

The Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 seems to be well liked and would compliment your kit lens. Maybe someone who has one can comment.
Martins have them for £364.99 delivered.

I have the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 non VC (IS) and it's very good and a definate step up from the std kit lens. The ultimate lens for this range is the Canon 17-55 f2.8 IS but that's £700+ All pretty much what Pete said! :D

I'm debating whether to sell the Tamron and just buy a 28mm f1.8 and a 50mm f1.4 or save up for a 17-55 f2.8.

Another good lens is the new Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4 OS (IS) at just over £300.
