Hello all,

I am looking to expand my lens collection. Currently I have the standard 18-70 3.5-5.6 kit lens and a Tamron 80-210mm  which is serving my newbie tendancies well. Being a newbie I am still a bit reluctant to spend large amounts of money until I have become more competent. I have been looking at the following lens and would value any suggestions:

Sony 75-300mm f4.5-5.6 A Telephoto Zoom

Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Macro DG

Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro

Many thanks

I've got the Sigma APO for my Canon and i love it. I'd recommend it to anyone, it's a hell of a lens for the price.

As A1ex2001 says, avoid the non-APO version at all costs.

:agree:
The Sigma 70-300mm APO DG Macro lens is a really good lens for the price. It is very very sharp and also offers 1:2 macro. For £130-150 I think you'd be very hard pressed to find anything better with that kind of range. Very highly recommended.

Can email you some pics taken with it if you want.
