Recently bought a Canon EOS 400D and all going great.
Just feel a bit lacking in wide-angle options.
I have a 50mm f/1.8, 35mm f/2.0 and the kit lens 18-55

I'm on a (very tight!) budget and would happily consider buying second-hand on eBay or similar.

What would you recommend for optical quality (either prime or zoom) that will give me better options?
Thanks!

Whats wrong with the kit lens, perfectly acceptable for landscape?

if you want a proper landscape lens than the sigma 10-20mm but it is £230 S/H

I also wonder what "wide angle options" you want.

If you want to go wider than the 18mm the kit lens can achieve, then the Sigma 10-20 is the most affordable solution. The Canon EF-S 10-22mm is better, but it's more expensive.

If you want to go faster whilst wide, the Sigma 17-70mm is f/2.8 and has a good reputation. The Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS is a great lens, but again it's relatively expensive.

If you want wider and faster simultaneously, I hope you won the lottery. Just about the only option there would be the Canon EF 14mm f/2.8, which is *really* expensive...

ebay seems very expensive for used lenses - sometimes go for the same price as new ones!
