Hi,

Looking to replace a lens that was stolen a couple of weeks ago and would like some advice or opinions please.

Lens that was stolen was a sigma 24-70 f2.8 the new him version.

I was thinking about the same lens again or the Canon 17-55 f2.8 is?

It will be used on a 7D and used for gig photography.
Any help appreciated

Is the focal length right (you're gaining wider, losing on zoom) for your work? The 17-55 2.8 is supposed to be pretty darned good (and would have been what I got had I bought a 7D).
 
I think i would choose the 17-55, that is as long as you would prefer 7mm extra on the wide end and not the 15mm you would loose on the long end?
