Ok - now firstly I should mention I'm on my third glass of wine so perhaps I am missing something very obvious....:bonk:

Have just bought a wavesync transmitter/receiver...fixed the receiver to my Smartflash and the transmitter to my D300...

Now what?!!? Thought I'd just quickly test it to make sure it worked, but I'm obviously missing some vital connection or setting on the camera somewhere...

How is it supposed to trigger the flash head? (This may become obvious tomorrow morning sans wine...) :help:

You've plugged the little lead into the synch socket on the SmartFlash?
And set both transmitter and receiver to the same channel?
And test fired by pressing the button on the transmitter?

If that hasn't solved it, it's got to be down to the wine:)

Excse me while I drag myself up from the desk whilst trying not to spill my wine... Yup little lead is plugged into Sync one the SmartFlash.... Power leads seem self explanatory on the receiver end so am pretty sure I have that bit right...

Setting the transmitter and receiver....Ummm...How? This may be the flaw in my cunning plan... Why don't these thing come with idiot proof instructions?!? :bang::lol:

It's easy if the light doesn't turn red when you blow into the machine:)
Dip switches
4 of them on each
Just push them all the same way.

Oh it would definitely turn very red if I blew into it right now!
Aaaaah had't spotted those little bad boys before now...(contact lenses have been removed) - made sure they were matching and Voila - it works..!!! Thank you very much!!

Just another question... to trigger two flash heads do I need two receivers? The lencarta site seems to indicate that only one is needed but I don't understand how the second one will trigger? I can't find a receiver on the lencarta site? Am I being a little slow here?! (Actually don't answer that...!)

The lights have sensors, so the second one sees the first flash and fires instantly so you don't see any difference. You can add several similar flashes if needed and only one receiver and trigger needed. Good stuff this Lencarta kit.

OK, I won't answer that:)

Is this the receiver you can't find?:bang:

There's a button on the control panel of your flash head, marked "cell" If it's on, then so is the slave cell on the top of the flash head, near the back. It will see the flash from whichever head has the trigger attached and fire.

There are no stupid questions, everything is obvious when you know the answer and impossible if you don't...

Thank you... yes that was the receiver I couldn't find...pesky little varmint was obviously hiding in plain sight...

Switching the cell button has worked - thanks as ever for the fab help... now off to play with my two flashes lol
