I am thinking of being some lower cost flash heads and interested in the Elemental Nano and Lencarta Smartflash. Read quite a bit about each but wondered if anyone knew are a comparative review between the two. Unfortunately I have not been able to see or handle either of these as I have only ever used Bowens and Elinchrom. I live in Cheshire / Manchester and there don't seem to be any distributors around my region.

Tricky one. I believe Elemental are persona non grata on this forum. Whereas Lencarta has plenty of representation.

Cheshire/Manc? Michael Sewell is your man.....

I bought and used elemental lights very happily several years ago. Had great customer service and a hefty discount when buying a lot of kit.

I prefer the (at least perceived) build quality of the elemental lights to the slightly (imho) plasticy feel of lencarta lights.

The new elemental trinity lights certainly have an impressive spec and remote control system, something that's yet to materialise from lencarta, if that's something that's important to you. Personally, remote systems annoy me, unless the light's way up on a boom, I find it far easier to walk over... As to the actual performance (eg recycle times etc), I haven't worked with either brand of light in a long time, and certainly couldn't comment on the newer lines.

Lencarta have a heavy presence on this forum, due not insignificantly to paid advertising and customer support from their representatives - but there are a great number of happy customers on the forum.

Once you find what your looking for I tend to use a website COMMERCIAL POSTING REMOVED. They have a few different flash heads, and if you dont have them online if you tell them what you want they tend to beat most online prices let alone shops and only take a day or two to come. Good luck

Can i ask why this link has been removed ? as quite often we post links to different websites that don't advertise on here, ie Amazon etc in the shoppers and suppliers section, i'm not criticising, i'm just curious to know why, in this case :)
