Hi,
I bought a pair of Lencarta Ultrapro 600Ws monolights second hand recently and these came with the Commander 2.4GHz (remote control). However, as it was 2nd hand, I have no instructions with it. My question concerns its use - how do you use the remote? I have had it working perfectly well on occasion, but then more recently, it has baffled me.
There is a control panel on the back of the light unit and one on the Commander. Which takes priority over the other? Should I set the settings on the light unit to be as I want them and then re-enter the same details on the Commander? How do I 'pair' them. Here is a specific example of what happened to me yesterday. I had the Unit ID set to 1 and the Group ID was set to 5 on the flash unit itself. So, I used the arrow buttons on the flash to bring the Group ID down to 1. Then, as soon as I used the left-right buttons on the flash unit to move away from the Group ID position, the Group ID returned to 5. Note: none of this involved the Commander, this was purely on the flash unit itself.
I also notice that, regardless of how well charged the batteries are that I use in the Commander, only 2 'bars' show in the battery power icon - it never shows as being full.
Are there any videos out there which demonstrate how to use this gear for an actual shoot?
Any advice would be very gratefully accepted!
