Hi,

I want to setup a small studio at my home and am looking to buy some studio lighting. I want to shoot primarily beauty shots and portraits but I am interested also of shooting commercial photography and splash photography. The size of the room is 5m x 4m.

I am interested of buying a couple of Lencarta Superfast 300 but I cannot find a lot of reviews about them (except on Lencarta page). Has anyone here used them and are they reliable?? I looked also for the Bowens Gemini 500pro or the Elinchrom BRX250 but I'm afraid that their flash duration is too slow for splash photography.

btw my budget is limited to around £1000 :(

Thanks in advance!!

There aren't that many reviews because they haven't been around long enough for that. Advanced Photographer though has done a pretty detailed review, and so have some customers.
Basically, they do what it says on the tin. Use the SuperFast at fairly high power settings and it's just another studio flash, albeit one with full remote control and incredibly consistent colour temperature and flash energy.
Turn the power down and you get incredibly short flash durations and near instant recycling. At the very lowest power setting there is inevitably some inconsistency in flash energy, pop to pop, but not enough to cause problems

Lencarta Superfasts are excellent. I wrote the review for Advanced Photographer magazine (issue 32, back numbers from Bright Publishing).

Performance just as Garry says, with the 600SF being the pick IMHO. When turned down a bit, both heads have almost identical power/flash durations with the 600SF just having an extra stop of brightness.
