My Lencarta lighting kit turned up yesterday. I only had about 1/2 an hour to play, but in that time I failed to connect the softbox to the flash head. It refuses to click into place.

Has anyone had similar trouble? Also, what is the best way of attaching a cumberson softbox to a flash head?

Cheers.

Is this the silver metal lump that slots in and you twist around?

Took me a while as I seem to recall the bit you put it into spins around too. Just needs a gentle touch. :)

i actually had a speedring that didnt click into place at all, it was as if the nubs were slightly too large for the fitting. garry was kind enough to send me a new one that was absolutely fine. looking at the two the difference must be millimeters, but the first one just would not click round.

had no probs with the replacement.

put the softbox on the floor with mounting ring face up, then push light down intothe ring and twist/lock into place.

if your struggling drop garry edwards a pm or ring him, i think his number is on the lencarta website.

All softboxes are a pain to fit, and the bigger they are the worse the pain. As Fletch says, put the softbox on the floor and then fit the head. There's a locking screw on the speedring, do this up first to make life easier.

There was a problem with a few of the speedrings, which simply didn't fit. The problem was resolved (I hope) but if yours doesn't fit just let me know by email to support@lencarta.com and I'll get a replacement sent out.
