Folks, do lencarta do 2 different types of 95cm octa softbox? I have just recieved mine from Photomart but im not sure its a folding one and dont want to assemble it if its incorrect. The box says 95cm standard softbox and the box itself has Lencarta and Chiaro Pro range written on it.Im hoping its the folding octabox as thats what i believe i ordered--but it doesnt look right.

Chiaro is the latest pro version of the non-folding softboxes. All the softboxes (and speedring adapters for various other makes of flash head) are shown here on the Lencarta website

Thanks for clearing that up Garry. I was expecting a folding octa box as per their website. Not had luck with them so far--scratched smartflash head and umbrellas not as described either. Just waiting a reply from them before deciding if i need to return it all or not.

When I looked recently there were online stores with prices cheaper than direct from Lencarta - not by much, and I think I would still rather order direct personally. Could be a reason.

I do doubt it, photomart are one of the most professional and reliable companies that I've ever done business with. Probably a qc or shipping damage issue... either way give them a call and they'll make ity right :)

Sorry, wasn't suggesting that Photomart may be the reason for the original problem - more that the price differential could be a reason for not going direct to Lencarta.

I was looking for a Lencarta 2 head kit or a 2nd hand Bowens kit and as its only so allow me to learn from then i wanted to save as much cash as possible. Photomart had lower pricing and seemed to have a good name about themselves so i opted for them. I have now emailed them 3 times about the delivery and the wrongly described items that i got but they havent replied. I may now need to take a half day from work to call them direct as its to late when i get home. I will see how they react before i decide if they can be trusted or not.

Basically i got a non folding Octa softbox where i was expecting a folding one.One head had a minor scratch but still a scratch all the same.I got a reflective umbrella and a shoot trough where i was expecting 2 x shoot throughs--although it isnt bad but their lack of response to email is less than satisfying.

Drop user 'mark aimes' on this forum a pm, he works for them and will sort it out for you :)

I would not recommend the use of the PM facility on TP for handling important matters with a supplier, email correspondence is much better. Also, although Mark works for Photomart his account is that of a regular member, so I don't think it fair to impose upon him via TP.

very true. Amazed they haven't replied to your email tbh. If you can, drop them a call at some point, always very attentive.

As you're Photomart's customer obviously I can't help. My advice is to phone Juan Silver at Photmart, Juan is in charge of their studio lighting department and I'm sure that he will be able to sort things out for you.

It's very possible that they are having problems with email; I had problems myself a little while ago and it's frustrating when emails don't get received or can't be answered while you#re waiting for someone to sort the problems out.

I have spoke to Juan at Photomart and have sent him some screen shots which i took after reading another issue with photomart with another user on this site. Juan said there is someone cloning their website and its currently a court issue. Not sure what he is taking about exactly but im just waiting a reply from him about the issue. He reckons i ordered a standard octa box and the code shows this but i have the code and screen shots showing the full description as a folding softbox. Unfortunately for some reasons the descriptions have all been removed--but i stilll have my screen shots to fall back on. Will update on the outcome shortly.

I have just came in from work to fine an email from Juan at Photomart. He has had a look at the screenshots i sent him and in his words " i dont know what to say except you are 100% right ".He has sent on the correct folding Octabox to me and will be delivered tomorrow and collect the other one at the same time. This has restored my faith in some online companies and shows that good old common sense has been applied. It seems the folding octa box should have been more expensive than what i paid and that the non folding octa box was wrongly described. Photomarkt have explained and have given a good result and i would certainly deal with again as this now hasnt put me off.

Thats a good result.

Everything has worked out well in the end. The little scratch on the head isnt an issue for me as it will take a few minor knocs anyway. Im happy with 2 different umbrellas and the new folding octa softbox has just been delivered--does exactly what it says on the tin and folds up very easily and suits my needs better than the non folding one.

As for Photomart i will say i was a little dissapointed at the lack of response to emails however each person i spoke to on the phone was very helpful and if they said they would call back then they did just that. Juan in the studio lighting section sorted the issue propmtly and im sure i will be making more orders in the future. Ijudge a company be its response to problems and photomart have done very well.
