Yes
For the information of others; I have a Leica M11, Godox V860iiiN speedlight + Godox Xproii Leica trigger and the TTL flash or HSS does not work - a little disappointing :(

(All firmware is the latest)

Is the Leica supposed to use Nikon flash protocols?

Asking as I have no idea

I seem to have missed the Leica bit on the trigger description

thanks for this, there’s such little info regarding compatibility with M system

I thought that part didn't matter - provided the on-camera trigger is the correct one for the camera, any brand fit of Godox Flash / Strobe should then work fully with it?

Hi Phil, the Leica & Nikon flash have identical 'pin out' locations but their protocols & functions are different.

The Leica trigger works with any of the V860 flashlights on the SL camera Q2 & M10 but not on M11.

I think it must be to do with how the M11 holds the shutter open all the time for metering.

You get the TTL pre flash but then a very weak main flash.

With manual, yes. But not with proprietary TTL and HSS systems.

I thought this was one of the advantages of Godox - my understanding was that the camera brand specific trigger decoded the camera brand specific flash protocols, and converted them to a common 'Godox' protocol, which it then transmitted to the Godox receiver (usually built in). The decoding of the individual camera brand TTL or HSS protocols is done in the trigger - which has to be brand specific, and allows the receivers to be generic.
So a Nikon fit trigger can (for example) fire a Nikon fit Godox flash, a generic unit (EG AD-200) or a cross brand fit Godox Flash (EG Canon fit Godox Flash).
What you cannot do is use a cross brand trigger - so a Nikon fit trigger will either not fire, or give manual only, if used on anything other than a Nikon camera.

Note: I may be mistaken in this - it's not something I've personally tried, but I am reasonably sure that this was the case, and it's been said a number of times.

I hadn’t read properly first time. :)

The flash doesn't matter in any mode - the flash shows Leica on the info screen when it's connected to the Leica trigger.

Godox do not make a Leica compatible flash yet they have firmware for all the latest flashes so the Leica trigger works with them.

Like I say; works with other Leica cameras BUT NOT the M11.

This is exactly right and better explained than me

I had a look on the Leica website, if you look for accessories, the M10 has a link to some Leica flash units - but the link is not there for the M11 it may just be a website omission, or they may have changed the protocols for it, and not told anyone.

My Leica SF24D works fine with the M11 so it's very strange!

You have it exactly right. I run a lot of workshops and 1:1 tutorials and my Godox triggers for Nikon work just fine on many other cameras for manual flash.

It seems Godox do have a few gremlins to work out on the Leica versions of the trigger though

That isn't what he has said.

"So a Nikon fit trigger can (for example) fire a Nikon fit Godox flash, a generic unit (EG AD-200) or a cross brand fit Godox Flash (EG Canon fit Godox Flash)."

Looks like it to me. This is exactly how they work.

and this bit
"What you cannot do is use a cross brand trigger - so a Nikon fit trigger will either not fire, or give manual only, if used on anything other than a Nikon camera"

Also correct. My Nikon-aligned Godox X-Pro triggers will work on any camera with a centre firing contact in the hot-shoe (manual only).
