I'm buying one Leica CM next Monday! I love this camera and I think I can make it more "like me"...

So I'm thinking buying a new leather and maybe change the Leica red dot for a black one...

What do you think?

I love the excitement of new kit but ...

Does it need new leather?

Will it take better photos with a black dot?

I'm all for making things more personal but I think the first thing I would do is to go out and take pictures.

But maybe that's just me :lol::lol::lol:
 
Ivo, changing the red dot to black might help attract less attention ; and thus less chance of mugging etc. So may be its a safety issue.

Other than that, I wont care about the cosmetics - unless you think you can get a better price when you sell it by making those changes, in which case its a economic choice
 
I have a Spotmatic that somebody thought needed personalising...

The camera is in mint condition, so the leather would be only for personal satisfaction. I like the black leather but I think it would look good with a lighter one, like grey or something and with the black dot.


I think that everything that make us felling better will influence the way we take pictures. Is a question of feeling I think... :)
 
Do it... it's not like you are going to want to sell the camera is it? I mean... what you going to get instead?

Even if I think selling it I can put it like it was. I have to find a nice leather. If I can't do that I only will change the dot.
