hi people i am looking for someone who works within the field of solicitor or housing law with regards to removing a person from my moms residential property legally (to begin with). i am being fairly vague at the moment due to the delicate nature of the situation. many thanks derek.

The internet isn't the best place to ask for legal advice. I don't think any lawyer, or legal professional, is going to offer advice without knowing exactly what the problem is; and most of the ones I know would insist on acting within a privileged relationship to protect both parties.

Why don't you consult a solicitor? Some of them offer an initial consultation free of charge. Manchester University's School of Law also has a free legal advice centre open to the public: http://www.law.manchester.ac.uk/aboutus/services/legaladvicecentre/.

Home insurance sometimes covers legal costs for such matters and some offer free advice lines.

If the person has a tenancy agreement then you have to follow due process and you can only evict them for certain reasons.

If they don't have any kind of tenancy agreement then I suppose they could be classed as squatting, which became a criminal offence recently.

If they're an unwelcome party with any kind of financial claim on the house I don't think you can get rid of them very easily at all.

You really need specialist legal advice as doing the wrong thing can lead to a whole host of other problems.

thanks for the replies will try the law centre first thanks again :)
