I have to take my daughter to Bradford tomorrow and have a few hours wait before we return home. I thought it may be an opportunity to take my camera, can anyone suggest anywhere in the Leeds/Bradford area that may be a worthwhile location?

I would highly recommend Lister Park on Manningham Lane. It's about 1.5 miles from the city centre, so if you have a car....easy. Plus you can actually park in the Park. Photo opportunities are numerous including Cartwright Hall, the frontage to the hall (nicely bedded out with flowers), there is a Mughal Garden to the side of the hall, which is worth a photo or two. There is a boating lake with a café and also a impressive botanic garden worthy of a few more photos.

sorry to be a party pooper here but I would not take anything of value into Lister park unless I had 2 friends along side me.. not a nice place to be on your own

and the media museum banned photography a while back which was a bit of a joke considering what the place is

but with Lister Park dont risk it.. I myself was robbed there a number of years ago

Lister Park is situated in the worst area of Bradford - it has an appalling crime rate from car thefts to racial attacks a few years ago in broad daylight a 14 yr old schoolgirl got of the bus outside Lister park and was dragged into a car gang raped then the kind souls broke both her arms

all of the Bradford riots have taken place alongside the road right outside the Park
the park it self is nice but I would not allow any of my family members there under any circumstances

Sounds like a lovely place!! I'll be in leeds city centre so to far out my way anyway so will be looking for somthing in the city! I will however be taking the other half to see the old Emmerdale as she used to go often with her late grandfather

Jeez talk about scare-mongering. Lister Park is a lovely place, have walked around there many many times without feeling remotely threatened. My sister lived on the edge of it for years (alone) and never had a single issue. I would quite happily wander around there by myself with my camera for hours without a second thought.

You could go to Bingley Cemetery and try and find the grave of Bronislaw Zapolski.
Then find out why it's famous.
Then tell me where it's located 'cos I can't find it!

Jimmy Lemon your entitled to your opinion - the facts are that it has always had a high crime rate... I was robbed there - no end of crime happens there
you want to walk around with a camera there feel free - funnily enough there was an event there last year and I phoned Les McLean a well respected forum member on here and he said the same no way was he taking valuable camera equipment into that area

and sorry but no amount of dressing up how nice you think it is will ever change my opinion of the place
they had the biggest BMW dealership in the North of England right out side and the rioters burnt it down (Twice)
the point being I would advise no body to visit there with valuable eqiupment
