Does anyone else leave their inkjet on?

Since the start of October I've being doing a lot more printing than normal and just leave it on now all the time. The ink seems to be lasting forever! :D

I know that the cleaning process when you turn the inkjet on uses up some ink, but blimey, the cartridges didn't half run out fast before! Haven't had any problems with clogging etc so I'm wondering how much "cleaning" is actually required or is this just to get you to buy more ink?

what printer are you using? I tried this but my printer(canon ip47000) still went through the cleaning process after I printed 2 or 3 prints.

Epson R320, which prints surprisingly good prints - an on the third party inks! lol

Whenever I used to turn it on it would spend about 20 seconds cleaning and the ink levels would drop by a ridiculous amount! I'm guessing if it's not used much then it may get clogged but I'm sure the cleaning process every time is unnecessary?

Hi , I switch mine on in the morning and leave it on all day. I have the Epson 1400 and have a Photospeed ink flow system fitted. Never had any problems to date, touch wood, lol.

My Epson is on 24 hrs but I wouldn't dream of paying for Epson cartridges ... use inkredibles for great cartridge deals.

Cheers for the replies. I remember seeing that Youtube video which showed how much wasted ink sits in your printer tray thing. Shocking considering how much they charge for genuine carts.

I leave mine on 24/7 to save ink and havent had any problems.
Just installed an ink waste tank and a ciss the other night too. The amount of ink that went into the waste tank on a head clean was frightening :(
