Hopfully i should have my sorted in time for Le Mans this year.

Are any forum people going? Or what sot of Zoom ranges will be useful?

Thanks

Andy

im going its my 3rd year! ill be camping in Haox Anex ;)

how about you?

There are only a few spots on the circuit where you will be able to get a clear shot at the track without the fence in the way. Sneaking out into the woods etc you may get a better view, but I didn't try that.

Go on the big wheel too, you can get some good shots out of there!

200mm - 300mm is what's required. As said above, there are so very few places where you can get decent shots without chicken wire in front. Try Porsche Curves, where you can get high on the bank and above the fence. Also, there are a couple of spots around Tertre Rouge (try both sides of the track). Arnage can also give a few decent opportunities.

Otherwise, you may want to have some fun with a wide angle from the wheel or around the paddock.

My set from last year is on flickr, here. Clicking on the all properties link will give you the exif for each shot.

blimey is it that time of year again already?

My advice would honestly be this: leave your camera at home. concentrate on enjoying yourself instead without having to carry a camera around.
There are hardly any places where you can shoot without a fence in the way.
Going through the woods to the Mulsanne is a good way to get arrested.

But if you do take it, take the longest lens you can get your hands on, and a tripod for the obligatory night shot of the wheel.
