Yes
watching Practice now, usually watch into the early hours, catch up around 7am and then at work so will try and catch the last hour or atleats record it

I try and watch it all although it often takes me the following week to see the finish! I've never, in spite of many preparations over the years managed to stay awake for the whole race.

Turn the tv volume up full?

Yep ... watched all practice sessions 1 & 2 and qualifying so far ... 13.30 this afternoon for free practice 3, Hyperpole between 07.00 and 07.30 and free practice 4 at 09.00pm.

Personally the current way of hyperpole doesn't quite work for me, having all the 6 cars from each class on the circuit at the same time for 30 minutes will not give the fastest car. Individual timed sessions for each class would be more realistic.

Any way whinge over... all beers sorted, food sorted, comfy chair sorted for the whole race .. I'll be up around 8.30am on Saturday and will finally get to bed sometime on Sunday evening.

I’ve never stayed awake for the whole race, even when we were camping about 50-yards from the track… Most people seem to watch the first hour and then dip in and out until the final hour or so.

It’s a better solution than trying to set pole with 62 cars on the track.
Seems to be working so far. Will be awesome if the current car with 6minutes to go gets to stay on pole

I'll probably watch on Eurosport with RLMS commentary to about 11pm, then carry on in the morning as I really can't do late nights any more. When I went (2008 I think) we watched until around 3am, and somehow I slept for five hours in the tent with nearly 60 racing cars going by not very far away when normally the slightest noise keeps me awake.

Sadly the Alpine didn't make pole, third place is great though. Still not convinced about a 24 car hyperpole though, there was some baulking that slowed a couple of potential fast laps and Eurosport coverage consistently was looking at the LMP1's there were another 18 cars on the circuit.

Looking at the issues the LMP1's had during practice ... how about an LMP2 taking the overall win. They are only 6 sec a lap behind the LMP1's

Would be good to see LMP2 in with a shout of overall victory. May come down to number of pit stops over the 24Hrs…

A session for each class would be the ideal but would need 2 hours if using 30 minute segments
Interesting that one of the LMP2 drivers told he cant race having binned the car twice and nearly caused a third accident. Not sure where that leaves the team as a replacement wont have made the 3 night laps

The replacment driver is Nyck de Vries, he's one of Toyota's Platinum reserves so he should be quite handy.

Im not familiar with the TDS team so dont know how good they are in the Pro/AM subclass. Im guessing they may have stiffer competition in the full LMP2
Good De Vries had a proper drive

Seemed odd to me that so many were struggling to stay on the black stuff in practice. I get that they’re pushing on, but expect better from professional drivers.

Not watched it since my boss stopped racing, Mike Newton in his MG Lola EX264 think they won in 2005.
We always kitted the car out with our CCTV as well.

Interesting fact as well we had the Stig (Ben Collins) driving for us.

At the works Christmas party he always had the car put in the building with a pc hooked up and we played racing games while sat in the car.

Six hours in and with the demise of the 46 Alpine, LMP1 is becoming a little predictable. LMP2 is great everyone scrapping like a sack of ferrets best class atm. GTE Pro is the battle between Corvette and Porsche with AF Corse looking to pick up the bits.

De Vries looking very good seeing he'd only had 3 laps in the car before the start

Anyway back to the beer & snacks
