LCD on Battery Grip

I'm thinking of buying a battery grip for a D80 and was wondering if the version with the LCD comes in handy or is it a waste of money and I should save and get the one without the LCD.

The one with the LCD is a 3rd party grip, not a Nikon official one.

It's a good grip tbh, I've got one on my D80, can't say I've ever used the LCD though

Is the LCD not a bit of a gimmick? The real Nikon one isn't all that expensive and you'll get most of what you paid back when you come to sell it, whereas the 3rd party one will be worth two balloons and a blow at the ragman's trumpet, as they say round here

That's what I'm kinda thinking too, the gimmick part.
