Its a HUGE learning curve

1. CTRL U brings up Saturation menu. CTRL L brings up levels menu, CTRL M brings up curves menu.
2. Clone tool is on the tool (hit S) palette. Alt click to select area to clone from.

Hi Adele, not sure if this is better? :shrug: :lol:

Wot I did:

1. Clone tool (looks like a little stamp on the toolbar) to clone out the arm and the sign.
2. Heal tool (looks like a little plaster on the toolbar) just go over the cloning so it looks right.
3. layers -> New adjustment layer -> brightness/contrast. Adjusted up a bit.
4. Selected his top, then applied a bit of curves (layers -> new adjustment layer -> curves. Adjusted red only, to give the shirt a touch more punch.
5. Unsharp mask, to make sharper.

Not sure if it's better or not, I'm still learning to drive photoshop :lol:

I really recommend this book ... bought it recently, and it's got a lot of great advice and techniques in. Some very bad humour as well, but I have a bad sense of humour so it works fine :D

You've had Elements for a day and you STILL haven't mastered it! :bang::bang::bang: Are you a bit thick? :lol:

Don't worry, if you give up work and devote your life to it, you'll be reasonable within just 5-10 years :thumbs:

Or, you can remind me to cut you a copy of a cd I have with about 40 video tutorials on it covering lots of useful stuff, and some weird stuff too

:thumbs: That'd be great!!! I had one on a magazine, and when i come to find it....I cant find it!!! I'm very annoyed at the person who moved it...which would be me.

I did contemplate going and getting a book about it today, surely they do an idiots guide?

:thumbs: Thanks for all those links....you're a star! And....I knew you guys would be really helpful if I asked...which is why I did, and it saved me pouring through several thousand things on google

Can't help on elements as I use full photoshop, but I think the others have done you proud.

What I will say is that keep with it. I was reading an article in a Pro magazine which basically said that the thing that improved the author's photography most was learning how to use photo editing software properly. She first went out and spent thousands on new lenses only to be disappointed she then spent £300 on a photoshop course and that was by far the best £300 she ever spent in photography. Daft thing was she could have got the same instructions from the internet for free.
