After the problems some TP members had with the last update from Adobe, I wonder who's going to be the guinea pig and install the latest 8th June offerings?

The major update seems to be the Guided Upright Tool, and very interesting it looks too. Can't wait to try it but as always, I'll sit and wait until I hear the new updates install with few or no problems.

Brave man. There are quite a few guides to the new tool on YT. Andy Astbury has a good one on there.

All ok here even has a lens profile update for me that i wanted as well working well with no issues so far :-)

Thanks, I hadn't seen there was an update and I'm always keen to try these things out. Hit the search for updates and found them for Lightroom, Bridge and Photoshop. Did the auto install thing and was finished in less than 6 minutes and all restared without an issue. I'm not sure what all the new bits do yet or if I've discovered them all but for me the update process was simple and pianless. Working on an Intel I7 machine with Win 10

I managed to break Lightroom with this update, but I think this was an overzealous ccleaner problem.

Uninstall, reinstall and all is well.

not installing it.... Mac is running a bit slow, so want to get that up to speed before any changes.... and I keep getting 'install yosemite" notifications too... aaarggggh! :p

Seems that GPU options is now working in the update. Just been having a play and an 11 shot HDR with CPU only was 38 minutes ( (18 min preview + 20 min merge) and with the GPU option ticked dropped down to 26 minutes (8 min preview + 18 min merge). So at least on the big stuff there appears to be an advantage. :ty:

Thanks to those who were brave enough to take the plunge with the new updates. I did mine a short time ago and they seem to have loaded first time, hope everyone else on here has their updates go the same way.

Anyone know roughly how big the updates are (MB/Download size) ?

I'm using Sky's standard broadband at the moment and it's ****, Photoshop and Lightroom had to download over night. Upgrading to Fibre in a couple of weeks so may wait until then.

My LR was really slow & clunky after the last update. It was getting to the point of thinking of dumping Adobe for alternatives. This incarnation seems to have improved things a great deal. It's back to being my fave image editor.

I'd had Lightroom crashing every five minutes since I upgraded my MacBook Pro to El Capitan a couple of months ago. I'd tried everything - uninstall/reinstall, new catalog, delete prefs, even a brand new User profile and it carried on falling over.

The new update has fixed that. I installed the day it was released and, touching wood, it's been completely stable since.

The Guided Upright tool is excellent, BTW.

Sorry I can't help you with the physical size of the download but in terms of time, both LR and PS took about 3 minutes each for me to download.

Thanks, do you mean 3 minutes each to download the programs or updates?

Adam

That's correct, 3 minutes each to download the latest Lightroom and Photoshop updates Adam. A little over 6 minutes in total for both to download.
