Lastolite lumen 8 400 lights

Hi folks,

Has anyone used this product or know much about it? I was reading a couple of reviews about it but as always would prefer to hear other members views.

I'm pretty sure they're a re-branded Chinese model but someone correct me if I'm mistaken. They use the Bowens s-fit mount and the Lastolite modifiers are very good / almost identical to a lot of Bowens own but much more expensive than generic pieces.

As usual when buying such heads if you can get them at the right price then it shouldn't matter that they're not the best in class. The kits do pop up second hand occasionally and tend to be good value.

I trust that you are aware that the flash tube is not user replaceable of this model, it has to be sent off for this, inconvenient at best. Probably everything else on the market at moment has a flash tube that can be user replaced.

Cheers guys. Cheap re brand seems unlike lastolite. I thought their stuff was top notch. Thanks for the flash tube heads up.

Disappointing for Lastolite. They're not re-brands, but made in China - which is usually a good thing!

Long flash durations, heavy, no cooling fan, annoying recycle beeper (unless that's been changed recently). Flash tube is now user-replaceable, though they last forever and I've never had to replace one.

Look at Elinchrom or Lencarta.
